Gregory Brass – Mental Health Promotion, Suicide Prevention and Strengthening Resilience among Indigenous Youth

Gregory Brass is currently the Coordinator of the CIHR Implementation Research Team on Mental Health Promotion and Suicide Prevention. Previously he has held positions as Director of Operations for Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute in Ouje-Bougoumou, Eeyou Istchee (Baie James, northern Quebec). Previous to this he was coordinator of Regional Mental Health Services for the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay. He is finishing a doctorate in medical anthropology at McGill University that explores the social impacts of and perceptions of cancers in Eeyou communities in Eeyou Istchee. He is Anishnawbeg (Saulteaux- Ojibway) and a member of the Keeseekoose First Nation in southern Saskatchewan
