What about PolicyWise drew you to become a Board Director?
My experience in the non-profit sector, specifically in building and expanding programs and services, has shown me the value of research and evaluation. However, many of the organizations I've worked in simply do not have the capacity to do this work on their own. PolicyWise helps fill a significant gap in the industry, informing next steps for organizations so they can have greater impact in our community.
What excites you about being on the PolicyWise board?
As the incoming Board Chair for PolicyWise for Children & Families, I am thrilled to be part of an organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families. The opportunity to contribute to shaping policies and initiatives that have a direct impact on the well-being of vulnerable populations is truly exciting. I look forward to collaborating with fellow Board members and leveraging my experience in the non-profit sector to drive positive change.
What skills, experience, and strengths do you bring to PolicyWise?
With my extensive career in the non-profit sector and recent experience as a CEO, I bring a wealth of knowledge in fund development, strategic planning, and governance to PolicyWise. My expertise lies in developing and implementing effective strategies to address complex social issues. I have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by children and families, and I am skilled in fostering collaboration and building partnerships. Additionally, my experience in consulting allows me to bring a fresh perspective and innovative approaches to the table.
What do you enjoy doing in your leisure time?
In my leisure time, I enjoy immersing myself in nature through hiking and exploring the outdoors. It provides me with a sense of peace and rejuvenation. I also have a passion for reading, particularly books that inspire personal growth. Additionally, I find joy in spending quality time with my loved ones, engaging in meaningful conversations, and creating lasting memories.
As a child, what did you want to be growing up?
During my childhood, I found myself captivated by the multitude of possibilities often seen on television. I had aspirations of becoming a journalist, a lawyer, or even a fashion designer. Perhaps it was the allure of dressing impeccably and embarking on exciting adventures that enticed me towards these career paths.
