Sheri H. Easterbrook
Sheri H. Easterbrook is a child development specialist with a background in trauma. She uses her skills to design disaster management plans that put children first. She earned a degree in Child Studies from Mount Royal University, then a master’s in Disaster Management at Royal Roads University. She is currently writing her thesis.
Sheri has spent many years working with vulnerable families, which guides how she works today. She grew up in a small town in the Northwest Territories with six siblings and parents who worked in education. Her work and upbringing led her to study adverse childhood experiences so she can help improve the mental and emotional health of children and youth.
While volunteering with search and rescue, Sheri developed a strong interest in disaster management. This shapes how she supports child and youth mental health during disasters. She is excited to be a part of PolicyWise to enhance the systems and policies that decide what services and resources are provided for children and youth.
Sheri joined PolicyWise’s Board of Directors in 2023.
