PolicyWise for Children & Families is seeking three new Board Directors from across Canada to help guide meaningful change for children, youth, and families. We are looking for individuals with experienced in the fields listed below. However, we welcome applications from anyone interested in joining our cause!

    • Digital Fluency (such as AI experience)

About the role

As a Board Director, you will help guide our organization’s direction. This is a governance role, which means you will focus on big-picture decisions rather than day-to-day operations. Board Directors support and hold the organization accountable, helping ensure it stays true to its mission and goals.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Uphold and promote PolicyWise’s vision, mission, and accomplishments within your professional and personal networks.
  • Monitor the progress of our new strategic direction.
  • Act in the best interest of the organization.
  • Attend Board meetings, committee meetings, and the Annual General Meeting.
  • Represent PolicyWise in the community, including at meetings or events when needed.
  • Evaluate the President & CEO.
  • Oversee how PolicyWise manages its investment funds and how resource allocations are managed.
  • Follow the Board’s rules of conduct.
  • Ensure PolicyWise meets all legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
Joining our Board of Directors

Your commitment

New Board Directors will be officially appointed at our Annual General Meeting in September 2026 with an initial three-year term, with the ability to renew terms up to a maximum of six years.

The Board meets quarterly, with both in-person and virtual options. Board meetings typically last three to four hours. Board committees meet virtually every quarter for about two to three hours. Travel costs for in-person meetings are reimbursed.

Time for reviewing materials and preparing for meetings is expected as part of your overall commitment.
