Sarah MacKinnon

Sarah MacKinnon is Vice President of Youth, Family, and Community Programs at BGC Okanagan, where she provides strategic leadership to a diverse portfolio of social services supporting children, youth, and families across the Okanagan and surrounding communities. With more than 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector, Sarah’s work spans youth homelessness prevention, family support, mental health, youth justice, residential services, community development, and systems change. She has a particular interest in using evaluation, evidence, and lived experience to strengthen programs, demonstrate impact, and improve outcomes for young people and families.

Sarah is currently completing a Post-Graduate Certificate in Social Program Evaluation at Simon Fraser University. She holds a Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from St. Francis Xavier University, and brings extensive experience in cross-sector collaboration, public policy, advocacy, program development, and translating research into meaningful community practice.

Sarah joined PolicyWise’s Board of Directors in 2026.
