Michelle Okere

Michelle Okere is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and Inclusion Specialist. She has over a decade of experience helping provincial, regional, and national organizations grow. Her areas of expertise include:

• Fundraising
• Business development
• Public and interest holder relations
• Advocacy
• Strategic and operations planning
• Board governance

Since 2016, Michelle has supported transformational growth through her consulting company, Okere & Associates, with organizations across North America. She also co-founded the REET Institute, chaired the YWCA Edmonton’s Truth and Reconciliation Committee, and served on the University of Alberta Senate.

Michelle’s community work has been widely recognized. She was featured on the cover of PINK Magazine, received the Deputy Minister’s Award for Innovation, was named to Edify Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40, and received the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal.

Michelle joined PolicyWise’s Board of Directors in 2021. She is currently the Past Board Chair, having served as Board Chair from 2023 to 2025, and Board Vice Chair from 2022 to 2023.
